Diversity and Inclusion
Morgan Pottinger McGarvey is committed to diversity and inclusion within our firm and the legal field. We have built an inclusive culture where our attorneys and staff feel empowered to be who they are, and everyone is welcome. We believe gender, racial and ethnic diversity should be valued, and minority populations equally represented, in all professions.
Community Involvement
While Morgan Pottinger McGarvey attorneys work hard to represent their clients in legal matters, they are equally committed to improving lives through community involvement.
Mindy Sunderland "Family Scholar House’s mission is to end the cycle of poverty and transform our community by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self-sufficiency. As a single parent myself, I wholeheartedly believe in the power of education to change lives. Family Scholar House accomplishes miracles every day. I’m very proud to be a small part of their team." |
Tom Coffey "The brain injury community – survivors and their families – are so often overlooked and forgotten in our culture. It is regularly referred to as a silent epidemic. There is no cure for a brain injury, other than preventing one in the first place. So people with severe traumatic brain injury need around the clock assistance with basic needs, sometimes for decades. In short, people with brain injuries are oftentimes the people in the most need of help but are the most neglected. The Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky is committed to changing this and serving people and families living with the result of brain injury trauma." |
Tom Fenton "I joined the Board of ElderServe in 1983, having been introduced to the organization by another lawyer who then served on the Board. ElderServe’s mission has been and is to provide such services and assistance as will empower low income older adults to live independently. This group of people is often overlooked by society. ElderServe provides much needed assistance to thousands of clients, and its impact is profound and rewarding." |
Taylor Hamilton "I love being involved with Junior Achievement because it focuses on reaching out to young people to show them both the importance of financial literacy and the types of career opportunities that are available to them if they work hard and do the right things." |
Charlie Otten "Financial literacy, work-readiness skills, and entrepreneurship aren’t a part of every school curriculum. Junior Achievement fills this gap by putting professionals in the classroom to provide firsthand experience to inspire and prepare young people for a successful future. Junior Achievement has offered me the opportunity to have a real impact on our community’s young people by preparing them for life after school." |
Deane Stewart "I have been a member of the Board of Directors of The Healing Place for over 20 yeas after having been invited to join by a physician friend who was one of the founders of the addiction program. I serve as board secretary and have continued to be active in the organization because it is so gratifying to see the positive changes that occur in the lives of Healing Place clients from feelings of helplessness and dependency to becoming contributing members of their communities, reconnected to their children and families. Addiction is an ongoing problem in society. Those who successfully complete the program have an excellent chance of remaining free of drugs and alcohol over the long term." |
