The United States Trustee has appointed Brad Salyer to the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the Western District of Kentucky. The appointment was effective July 25, 2017. This appointment designates Salyer as the presiding officer at section 341 meetings of creditors, where he has the authority to examine debtors under oath. A Chapter 7 Trustee’s duties include reviewing debtor documents and schedules and seeking to recover assets for the bankruptcy estate for distribution to creditors.
Salyer’s practice at Morgan & Pottinger focuses on bankruptcy, commercial litigation, foreclosure, loan workouts and appellate law. He leads M&P’s Bowling Green office and was instrumental in the firm’s efforts to open an office in South Central Kentucky. Salyer joined M&P in 2009 after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he served on the Moot Court Board. He is also a member of the firm’s Policy & Procedures and Marketing Committees.
