Eighth graders at Holy Trinity Parish School recently explored To Kill A Mockingbird and discussed how it would change in a courtroom today with the help of guest speaker and M&P attorney Tom Coffey.
The eighth graders not only read To Kill a Mockingbird, but also studied the judicial part of the government and the role it plays within the story. Tom, a former Assistant Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney and current litigation attorney with M&P, led a student-driven discussion about jury selection and how the trial in To Kill A Mockingbird would be different if it took place in 2014.
