Scott White, head of M&P’s Litigation Practice Group and criminal law practice, is representing one of the eight defendants whose conviction was vacated today by a three-judge panel of the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. As reported by the Lexington Herald-Leader, the appeals panel ruled that U.S. District Judge Danny Reeves erred by allowing jurors to hear evidence that should not have been admitted and by making changes to transcripts of secret tape recordings made during the FBI investigation of the case. White and attorneys for the other defendants will ask that their clients be released on bond pending a new trial.
