John McGarvey has been appointed chairperson of the Legislative Council of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. He also received a 2013 Uniform Law Commission Legislative Award for advocacy on behalf of Article 9.
The 2010 Amendments to Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code went into effect in Kentucky, and most other states, July 1, 2013. McGarvey was a member of the national Drafting Committee for the 2010 Amendments to Article 9 and was named co-chair of the American Bar Association’s enactment committee for the 2010 Amendments.
